One night, I was sound asleep, But at 4 o’clock in the morning, it seemed like someone pulled me upright on the side of my bed, and the Lord began to speak to me.

It took me by surprise because I thought the vision He had given me a few weeks before was complete.

God said, “Now that I have given you the wake-up call about the Second Coming of My Son, Jesus Christ, I want to talk to you about something that must take place.

“Do you realize that most of my people are not tithing?” He said, “Many of My pastors are talking to people about the tithe, but they are not explaining what I will do in return. Tithing can put them in a new position. They not only support My work and help send the Gospel to all nations to prepare people for the Second Coming of Christ, but also understand that I can do something for them that they’ve never had in their lives.”

God said, “There are three things that I want to tell the people about tithing as a wake-up call:

1.  “I will open the windows of heaven for you.”

God said, “I want to remind you that it’s not about money out of heaven. When I say I will open the windows of heaven––really the floodgates of heaven––and pour you out a blessing where there’s not room enough to contain it, I’m not talking about pouring money out of heaven to you,

because the earth is Mine. I own all the silver and gold in the earth. I own the cattle on a thousand hills.”

“The world’s economic system doesn’t own the money. I own the money. My people are My people, but they don’t always understand who owns the earth. And money comes out of the earth.”

God said also,“What I’m talking about in pouring out the blessing that you cannot contain is in ideas, concepts, and insights.

“Things work on ideas. There’s nothing that has been done or created except by an idea.”

And He said, “I will open the windows of heaven when you bring Me your tithe, or your tenth, and your offerings.(Malachi 3:10-11) I want you to know that tithing is not about money. It represents My ownership. It represents your recognition that I own everything…that you don’t belong to yourself; you belong to Me.”

2.  “I will rebuke the devourer for your sake.”

The devourer is the enemy. That’s the devil, who wants to steal from you. He wants what’s yours out of your hands and out of God’s control, because if he takes it out of your hands, then you may become part of the world-system that’s plunging people into debt.

Let me tell you, this is a serious thing. Don’t depend on the world’s system. Ask God to show you ideas, concepts, and insights that can give you financial freedom instead of debt.

3.  “I will give you favor”

One of the most miserable experiences I ever had in my life was when I felt like I didn’t have favor…that I didn’t have God’s favor and I didn’t have the favor of people. And there are so many who really don’t seem to have favor.

But God says He can give you favor. And if you have the favor of God, He can give you the favor of many people. There can be opportunities presented to you.

This is one reason why I believe you give of your tithes and offerings to the Lord’s work. And the Bible states what possibilities can begin. God can:

• Open the windows of heaven and pour into you a blessing    

  where you can hardly contain it (and thats part of what he   

  was referring to with ideas, concepts, and insights) and

• Give you favor.

When we have God’s favor, when we’re receiving His protection for our lives and having ideas and concepts and insights coming constantly into our minds, then we can support ourselves and sustain the work of God. We can have provision so that Matthew 24:14 can be fulfilled:  This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
