Framing Your Family with God’s Word

By Lindsay Roberts

Have you ever heard of the expression, “I’ve been framed”? Many times it is used as a negative expression, but, think of it in spiritual terms. I believe being “framed” is one of the best things that can happen to your children…if they’re framed with a protective prayer covering that’s in line with the Word of God.

And I think as parents, if we will pray over our children on a consistent basis and pour the Word into their spirits, we can help give them a foundation to fulfill their God-given callings and step into the destinies God has for them.

Praying the Word Over our Children

Children are so precious. The Bible says they are our gift from God, and I believe how we nurture and train them is our gift back to Him.

This is part of the prayer we prayed over our girls:

We pray for peaceful, happy, healthy, restful, sweet sleep. No accident, injury, sickness, or disease. We plead the blood of Jesus over you. We declare a prayer cover and a hedge of protection over your life to keep you safe in every way. We pray for the blessing of Abraham, the spirit of David, the wisdom of Solomon, and the mind of Christ to be your portion. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and all you have need of comes to you in every way. May the power of God direct you in every area of your life. Amen

I think not only can we pray the Word of God over our family, but we can also pour the Word of God into them. If we do this, I believe we will be able to remember what the Word says as we apply it to any situation that may arise in our lives.
