A Key to Miracles

By Lindsay Roberts

This year, not unlike any other year in our lives, our family has been believing for miracles. But recently something happened to us when we saw a picture of Richard’s dad, Oral Roberts, sitting behind a plaque that said Make No Little Plans Here.

We began to talk and joke about how he never made small plans. How he was a thinker, a dreamer and a planner. It’s one thing to be a thinker and a dreamer…but if you can’t find a way to cause the plans to come to pass, it just remains a thought or a dream.

I spent countless hours with Oral planning the plan. We used to make a joke that it’s one thing to have a plan, but we have to plan the plan, and then we could carry it out. But the opposite of that is true as well, because if you don’t have a plan, how can you carry it out?

Jeremiah 29:11 says, for I know the plans I have for you. They are to prosper you and not harm you… to give you a hope and a future.

If you could measure the kind of plans that a person could have, can you imagine how much bigger the plans of God would be? Imagine whatever it is that you were thinking and keep in mind the scripture in Ephesians 3:20 that said God will do exceedingly abundantly far above anything you could ask or think.

Imagine what you’re planning out and then attach it to the plans that God has for us to prosper us and not harm us… to give us a hope and a future.

So some big questions are:

What are you thinking?

What are you believing for?

What are you dreaming?

What are you expecting?

And WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING FOR?

I know people that are planning for a great future or a good year or a good business or a prosperous life. And I also know people who are planning for doom and gloom and disaster. And, honestly, I don’t want to go into agreement for doom and gloom and disaster. I do understand where they’re coming from but I must say it can bring me down if I’m not careful. I do try to be around people of like mindedness, of like-faith, and I take the scripture that says iron sharpens iron. I want to be around people who think like I think and believe like I believe.

I’m around people all the time and I’m not saying stay away from them. Many times that’s where God directs me to minister. But, I can’t surround myself with constant disagreement with God’s word and not expect it to have an effect on me.

I always consider Psalm 1:1 that says blessed is the man that doesn’t walk in the council of the ungodly nor stand in the way of the sinner nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in that law does he meditate day and night. He’ll be like a tree planted by rivers of living water. That’s fertile, rich soil. And it goes on to say whatsoever he does shall prosper. That goes right back to Jeremiah 29:11 that God knows the plans he has for us showing us they are good and are intended to to direct us to how we can prosper.

Therefore, I have to surround myself with the word of God and continuously expect a miracle. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing the word of God. Well, if that’s true, then the opposite might be considered… that fear can come in by continuously hearing something opposite of the word of God or in contrast or contrary to the word of God.

I truly believe that in the day and age that we’re living, we must guard our hearts and listen with our most holy faith. And we have a Bible right to expect expect a miracle.

Matthew 18:18-19 talks about going into agreement, and I want to align myself with what is in agreement with the word of God. I encourage you to do the same.

That’s why we have crafted this beautiful wooden plaque. It is a constant reminder that we have a Bible right to think, believe and expect that our plans will line up with God’s plan.

I remember that little song we used to sing in church oh be careful little eyes what you see, oh be careful little eyes what you see…for the Father up above He is looking down in love, so be careful little eyes what you see.

It’s a reminder to focus on the things of God and do not allow the things of the world to take our focus away from Him. Therefore, I encourage you to make no little plans that are in constrast to God’s plans. I also encourage you to get your Make No Little Plans Here plaque and use it as your constant reminder that God has a plan and a purpose for you––He is for you––as you expect a miracle every day, every week, and throughout this entire new year!
