Cinderella: It’s Not Just About Prince Charming
by Lindsay Roberts
The story of Cinderella has captivated so many over the years with its elements of hope, transformation, and happily ever after. We see Cinderella, a young girl subjected to mistreatment by those close to her, rise above her circumstances through a series of fairy-tale-inspired events.
Cinderella’s story is not just about finding Prince Charming; it’s about making difficult decisions and embracing faith in uncertain times. Despite her many challenges, Cinderella dared to dream and took the courageous step of attending the royal ball, knowing it could change her life forever.
I’m not encouraging you to base your life on a fairy tale or seek out a fairy godmother, as this is just a story. However, we can look at the principles and learn that through Christ, we too, can have a happily-ever-after ending to our story.
Hebrews 11:1 reminds us, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not [yet] seen.” Even in imperfect current circumstances, we can see beyond the metaphoric ashes of our situation. Just as Cinderella’s journey to the ball led to a new beginning, our faith can propel us toward our dreams and God’s purpose.
Self-doubt often threatens to derail our dreams before they even begin. However, we can find confidence in knowing that God is for us because Romans 8:31 assures us, that with God on our side, we can face any challenge with godly strength, courage, and determination.
While Cinderella may have seemed alone in her dreams, she ultimately found provision and support in unexpected ways. Unlike just a tale, we have an all-powerful heavenly Father who loves us and desires to see us fulfill our potential. By trusting in God’s plan and believing in His power, we can overcome setbacks and experience the fulfillment of our dreams.
The Bible teaches us that we can demonstrate resilience, faith, and the transformative power of God’s love through Christ. As we journey through life, we can embrace the truth that with God, our happily ever after is not just a fairy tale but a promise waiting to be fulfilled.
