On July 4th, the United States of America will celebrate its 250th anniversary as a nation.  I have traveled all around the world, and I am always so thankful when my feet are back on American soil. Even with the challenges and difficulties we have been through and are going through, there  is no other nation like it.

From the very beginning, this country was dedicated to God. Our founders faced overwhelming obstacles, but they believed that God would help them to establish a land of liberty and hope for generations to come.

Now we all know that America has never been perfect, but we can look to God and do our part to pray and believe for God’s hand to guide us and for peace to replace strife, chaos and division.

God can turn a nation around. He’s done it before, and He can do it again. I believe with all my heart that prayer changes things. In 1Timothy 2:1–4  Paul says “I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

This country would not be the same today without the miracle-working power of God intervening over and over again. We need to pray for His continued intervention, so the generations to come can enjoy the freedoms that we have known.

President Ronald Reagan once famously stated, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It has to be fought for and defended by each generation.”
