There is Power in the Blood of Jesus to Bring Breakthrough
By Richard Roberts
Are you ready for a breakthrough?
I am believing this will be your season of supernatural turnaround. The Bible gives us powerful ways to use our faith, and one of the greatest spiritual weapons God has given us is the blood of Jesus.
The Bible shows us that the blood of Jesus has the power to change our circumstances and help us overcome every obstacle standing in our way.
The Blood of Jesus: A Key to Victory
The Bible shows that the blood of Jesus is stronger than anything the devil can throw at you.
Revelation 12:11 tells us that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. When Jesus shed His blood, died on the cross, and rose again, He defeated Satan and stripped him of his authority. He took the keys of death and hell right out of the enemy’s hands!
Jesus purchased our salvation and healing on the cross. It was as though His shed blood was saying:
• Satan, the devil, has no biblical right to a believer’s life.
• Satan has no right to your work, your finances, or your health when you belong to God.
But I believe it takes an act of your faith and aligning your words and life with scripture. James 4:7 tells us to submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from us. When the enemy attacks, remind him of what the blood has done. You can declare out loud:
“I am a child of God, bought by the blood of Jesus. Satan, you cannot have me. You cannot have my family, my health, my finances, or my future. The blood of Jesus is against you Satan, and the Bible says the blood wins!”
I believe there is nothing more relevant to a person’s life today than the shed blood of Jesus. Without it, there would be no salvation. Hebrews 9:22 NIV says that “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.”
A Permanent Sacrifice
In the Old Testament, the people of Israel offered the blood of animals to temporarily cover sin. But that was only an example of what was to come.
When Jesus went to the cross, He became the final and perfect sacrifice.
2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Hebrews 9:12 tells us that Jesus “entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”
His sacrifice was not temporary.
It was complete.
It was permanent.
And God did not stop at forgiveness.
Romans 8:32 says “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” What Jesus accomplished on the cross was a finished work. There was nothing missing and nothing lacking.
The shed blood of Jesus was intended to provide for everything you would ever need, such as salvation, healing, deliverance, peace, joy, restoration, and abundant life. His blood paid for it all.
Covered and Protected
I believe as a child of God, you are marked by the blood of Jesus.
Just as the blood over the doorposts protected the Israelites in Egypt, the blood of Jesus provides a covering over your life. As you walk with Him, worship Him, and obey His Word, you position yourself under that covering.
When you miss the mark with your life and make a mistake, you can repent quickly. 1 John 1:9 promises that “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Because of the blood, you can approach God with confidence.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we can come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Jesus’ shed blood at Calvary gives you access. It gives you the right to stand before God and make your plea.
In a courtroom, a defendant is asked, “How do you plead?”
In the courtroom of heaven when you present your petitions before God, you can plead the blood of Jesus.
You can stand in faith on the finished work of Christ and say, “Father, I come not in my own righteousness, but in the righteousness provided through the blood of Your Son.”
That is powerful.
Remembering Through Communion
The Word tells us one of the most meaningful ways to honor the power of His blood is through communion.
In Matthew 26 and 1 Corinthians 11, Jesus broke bread with His disciples and said, “This is My body which is broken for you… This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do in remembrance of Me.”
Communion is more than a ritual. It is a remembrance of everything Jesus accomplished on the cross. When we partake of the bread and the cup, we are declaring our faith in His sacrifice and in the covenant sealed by His blood. (Today we might use a cracker or a piece of bread to symbolize His broken body and juice, like grapejuice, to symbolize His shed blood.)
It reminds us that healing was purchased.
Deliverance was secured.
Victory was purchased at the cross.
Every time I take communion, I reflect on the price Jesus paid. I remember that His blood was shed so that I could walk in freedom and wholeness.
Step Into Your Breakthrough
As we approach this Easter season, I pray you will place your faith fully in the power of the blood of Jesus.
I encourage you:
• If you need healing.
• If you need restoration in your
family.
• If you need financial break-
through or freedom from fear.
Whatever it is that you are asking God for in faith, I pray you remember what Jesus did on the cross.
Declare what the Word says.
Align your speech with Scripture.
Submit to God, resist the devil and believe he will flee.
I always heard it referred to as the finished work of the cross because in John 19:30 Jesus declared “it is finished.”
The work has already been done. The victory has already been secured. Jesus paid the price in full.
Now, I want you to believe and receive what He has provided.
I am believing for breakthrough in your life. I am believing for supernatural turnaround. I am believing that as you honor Jesus and His shed blood on the cross, and stand in faith, you will see God move in powerful ways.
The blood of Jesus is not a distant doctrine. It was accomplished to purchase your present-day victory.
And I believe the blood of Jesus wins every time.
